Canvassing Board Meeting and
L&A Test Schedule

Listed below is the Canvassing Board Meeting schedule and the Logic and Accuracy Test dates for the August 24, 2010 Primary Election.

ALL MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - CALL (352) 374-5252 FOR INFORMATION OR IF YOU REQUIRE SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS.

NOTICE:
Any protest or challenge based on the belief that any ballot is illegal due to any defect apparent on the Voter's Certificate must be filed with the Canvassing Board before the ballot is removed from the envelope, and shall not be accepted after the ballot has been removed from the mailing envelope. If any person decides to appeal any decision made at these meetings, they will need a record of the proceedings, and they need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made. This notice applies to all meetings.

BALLOT TABULATION:
Results will not be tabulated for absentee ballots or early voting ballots until after the polls are closed on Election Day.

SCHEDULE:

August 5, 2010 - Thursday - 9:00 AM - LOGIC & ACCURACY Test
The Canvassing Board will conduct the testing and sealing of the vote tabulation equipment to be used in all phases of the Primary Election. The test will begin at the Elections Warehouse, 602 SE 9th Place, Gainesville and end at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue, Gainesville.

August 18, 2010 - Wednesday - 9:30 AM
The Canvassing Board will meet at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue location, Gainesville, to review criteria used to accept absentee ballots, and to review and process the absentee ballots which have been received by the Supervisor of Elections. Ballots will be available for inspection at 9:00 AM. The NOTICE above applies for challenges.

August 19, 2010 - Thursday - 9:30 AM
The Canvassing Board will meet at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue location, Gainesville, to review and process additional absentee ballots received by the Supervisor of Elections. Ballots will be available for inspection at 9:00 AM. The NOTICE above applies for challenges.

August 20, 2010 - Friday - 1:00 PM
The Canvassing Board will meet at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue location, Gainesville, to review and process additional absentee ballots received by the Supervisor of Elections. Ballots will be available for inspection at Noon. The NOTICE above applies for challenges.

August 21, 2010 - Saturday - 1:00 PM (if needed)

The Canvassing Board will meet at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue location, Gainesville, to review and process additional absentee ballots received by the Supervisor of Elections, and to canvass the returns from early voting and the precincts after 7:00 PM. Ballots will be available for inspection at 4:30 PM. The NOTICE above applies for challenges. Unofficial Results will be released.

August 26, 2010 - Thursday - 3:00 PM
The Canvassing Board will meet at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue location, Gainesville, to canvass election returns, review provisional ballots along with any evidence provided, and after 5:00 PM prepare and certify unofficial results. The NOTICE above applies for challenges.

August 31, 2010 - Tuesday - 1:00 PM
The Canvassing Board will meet at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue location, Gainesville, to canvass the election, and certify the Official Results. The Board will then make selections for the post election audit of the voting system per Florida Statutes. A review of the audit process will follow. The NOTICE above applies for challenges.

September 1, 2010 - Wednesday - 9:00 AM
The Canvassing Board will meet at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 111 SE 1st Avenue location, Gainesville, to conduct the post-election audit of the voting system per Florida Statutes.
